New Podcast just published!
I released my Food and Music IOW podcast trailer on the 11 February 2023. This is episode one.
Having moved to the Isle of Wight in 2020, the last couple of years have been busy with various projects. I restarted my catering business and completed my new kitchen build last May! I have had two good summers catering for holiday makers and locals, catering in some fabulous venues here on the island.
Last year I was invited by Sunshine Radio IOW, the hospital station at St Mary’s in Newport to become a presenter. In December last year, my show went out for the first time! It has been a fun project coming up with a format and make a show that combines music and food. With my favourite songs and artists plus a few recipes from me! You can listen to the show on sunshineradioiow.com every Thursday afternoon at 3pm on the website or through your smartspeaker. Ask to listen to “SunshineRadioIOW on Tunein” - enjoy!
The natural progession was a podcast. When I restarted my catering business I needed to find suppliers and I am passionate about using local produce. I have found a wide range of producers and a vibrant hospitality sector. This is what my podcast had to be about! This combines my interest in local food and drink with a view of the hospitality sector and conversations with people who are busy producing food, drink or working in the islands wide hospitality sector. Add a few songs in for good measure and the Food and Music IOW podcast was born!
I have carried out a number of interviews, conversations really, with some fantastic people. These are part of a monthly podcast which I am producing and publishing on Spotify, Amazon Music, Pocketcasts and Radio Public. The trailer podcast is now out on these platforms. I have also linked my podcast here on Substack!
The conversations reveal why these people do what they do and there is always a surprise in there as well. I have learnt a lot from these conversations, about the island, its history, the communities and the hard work people are prepared to put in for their passion and sense of community!
Please have a listen and subscribe to the podcast. The first episode is out in early March, in a few weeks. I am also working with a partner business here on the island, more on that in March!
Thank you for reading and listening. Please share with friends and family too!
